We all know Tyrese has been vocally opposed to The Rock signing on to do a Fast and Furious spin-off, which delayed the next film in the series. Things got so heated between the two stars, in fact, that Black Ty publicly declared that he would quit the lucrative franchise if The Rock stayed on. Now, it looks like Tyrese has another job in the works, but something in the milk ain't clean.
See more recent controversy that the actor was involved in with BET Breaks, above.
Tyrese wrote on his IG, "Paramount has officially greenlit a sequel to Four Brothers ( no lies here lol )..... it’s all over the net the script is almost done to the sequel and it’s magic- Gonna be cool as hell just getting back with the crew." See below:
Tyrese also posted a screenshot of an article from The Hollywood Reporter, which is about the sequel. Check it out:
However, if you notice, Tyrese cut off the date to the article. If you search for the actual article from The Hollywood Reporter, the date of the story is nearly eight years ago — January 13, 2010, click here for the receipt. Granted, Black Ty could have some inside info, but the announcement is not "all over the net" like he wrote on IG. Tyrese is the only source, according to a search over the past 24 hours.
We would love to see a Four Brothers sequel, which was released in 2005 and directed by John Singleton. The crime film starred Mark Wahlberg, Andre 3000, Garrett Hedlund and Tyrese.
Let's hope Tyrese ain't playing with us and pulling a Bow Wow (remember when Shad got caught out there, lying about that private jet on social media?). We all know Ty has had some untruthful moments recently.
