BET.com recently published a commentary piece pointing out Hollywood's lack of response to Terry Crews' attempt to call out a powerful agent for sexually assaulting him. Despite the encouraging uprising of the #MeToo movement, the public support that found its way to other (often white, female) celebrities didn't seem to extend to the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star — until this past weekend.
In the four days passing since our op-ed went live, several celebrities and social justice figures have publicly declared their support for the actor, starting a groundswell of support among fans and other victims of sexual assault. We are proud to have played a part in Terry's mission, and continue to support him as he works to sound the alarm, not just for himself but for countless other men and women who suffer in silence.
