TMZ first reported on Sunday (October 14), that the singer and actor/comedian ended their engagement over the weekend. Sources close to the website say the pair still have love for each other, however, both parties acknowledged it was simply the wrong time for their relationship to take off.

“It was way too much too soon,” a source close to PEOPLE Magazine said. “It’s not shocking to anyone.”

Ariana and Pete announced their engagement in May, just a few weeks after they reportedly began dating. Grande was gifted a $100k engagement ring from Davidson.

While they may be done, sources close to the couple say they’re not ruling out rekindling their romance in the future.

Hopefully both can use the time apart in a positive way.
