Here For It! Reginae Carter Will Make Her Acting Debut Alongside These Two TV Legends

The trio is involved in a new Lifetime adaptation of an iconic novel.

Reginae Carter recently revealed that she had plans on dropping out of college and, instead, pursuing a career in acting, and it appears as the young scion has already landed her first gig.

According to TV Line, Carter, the daughter of Lil Wayne and Toya Wright, is set to join iconic TV figures Jackée Harry (Sister, Sister; 227) and Reginald VelJohnson (Family Matters) for an all-Black contemporary version of Pride and Prejudice, based on the well-known 19th century Jane Austen-penned novel.

The film is interestingly titled Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta.

Rounding out the main cast are Tiffany Hines, Brittney Level, Alexia Bailey, Raney Branch and Juan Antonio.

In reference to the film's revised plot, the site reports that Harry will play preacher's wife Mrs. Bennet who had just written a book about the importance of marriage in the African-American community. With these values in mind, she soon becomes bothered after realizing that her daughters, Lizzie (Hines), Jane (Branch), Mary (Level), Lydia (Carter), and Kitty (Bailey) are all still single and available.

Determined to marry her daughters off, Mrs. Bennet tries her best to match her eldest daughter, Lizzie, up with Will Darcy (Antonio). VelJohnson plays their father, Reverend Bennet.

Kellee Stewart, Victoria Rowell and Keshia Knight Pulliam are also involved in the film in supporting roles.

Reginae recently took to her Instagram account to share the news:

Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta is set to air on Lifetime. A confirmed premiere date has not yet been announced.
