The actress and her husband, Adam, shared a few words with the publication regarding the tragic news.
"Our hearts are broken," the couple said in a statement. "We just learned that our Alaina was one of the victims of last night's shooting at Borderline Bar in Thousand Oaks. Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner."
Following the shocking tragedy that occurred at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, resulting in a gunman murdering 12 innocent people, several have taken to social media to find their loved ones who they believe may have been present at the scene.
One of those people is The Real co-host and actress Tamera Mowry-Housley, whose niece, Alaina Housley, is reportedly missing.
In response to a tweet from her niece's suite mate, Ashley, Mowry-Housley said she was still missing at the time of posting the tweet, following the mass shooting.
"Ashely [sic] this is her aunt Tamera Mowry Housley," she replied. "Can you please DM me your information?"
The suite mate replied, sharing that she had already been in contact with the talk show host's husband, Adam.
"Unfortunately there's nothing new to report at the moment," she said.
Some seven hours following the shooting, the Sister, Sister star shared that neither she nor her husband had learned any new information regarding their niece being found.
The gunman, identified by authorities as former Marine Ian David Long, has reportedly killed himself after carrying out the attack.
