'Love & Hip Hop' Star Alexis Skyy Is Getting Ruthlessly Shamed For Revealing Her Daughter Is On Medicaid

Folks have questions about her financial situation.

The currently airing sesaon of Love & Hip Hop is only a couple of episodes in and new addition to the spin-off, Alexis Skyy, is already causing quite the stir on social media. The reason: Her Medicaid assistance.

As many are likely aware, the reality star prematurely gave birth to her daughter, Alaiya Grace, with rapper Fetty Wap, back in March. With the little one arriving three months early, she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a buildup of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain.

As a result of this, Skyy shared during the most recent episode of the reality series that the now 8-month-old has had multiple surgeries and treatments for her condition. During this explanation, she shared that her child is also on Medicaid, which seemed to confuse several viewers as the reality starlet constantly boasts about securing the "money" bag.

For those unaware of the complexities of Medicaid, it is classified as a state and federal program of health-care coverage for low-income individuals ranging from eligible adults and children to pregnant women, the elderly and people with disabilities.

As Alaiya Grace was born with a special health need, she likely would qualify for Medicaid assistance regardless of her mother's income and seemingly "lavish" lifestyle.
