Cardi B Announces Her First Movie Role, Opposite Jennifer Lopez – And The Internet Has Many Questions

KeKe Palmer, Constance Wu will also star in the film about a stripper-turned-hustler.

Cardi B is ready to take her career to new heights. After breaking records and winning awards on the music front with her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, the rapper is now venturing into acting — and we’re not talking about rebooting her shenanigans on Love & Hip Hop.

In fact, she's already secured a role in a major film production alongside Jennifer Lopez that screams "girl power!"

According to Deadline, Cardi — real name Belcalis Almanzar — landed her first film role in the upcoming movie Hustlers, which will follow a true story of a group of strippers who conned wealthy Wall Street workers out of money.

In addition to the "Dinero" collaborators, the likes of Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians), KeKe Palmer (Brotherly Love), Lili Reinhart (Riverdale) and Julia Stiles (Save the Last Dance) are also confirmed to star in the film.

Cardi recently took to Instagram to share the news with her followers:

  • STX Films, the production company behind the project, also took to Twitter to break the news.

  • Hustlers is set to begin shooting on March 22 in New York City, and will be produced by Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. The Meddler's Lorene Scafaria is set to write and direct.

Though a confirmed release date for the film has yet to be revealed, fans have swarmed social media with questions relating to its plot and exactly when they can expect to get tickets.

It's safe to say the Bardi Gang is set to come out in full swing for this one.
