Christopher Clanton Sr., an actor who appeared on The Wire, is reportedly on the run after escaping police custody.
Clanton, who starred in nine episodes of the critically-acclaimed crime drama, was arrested in Baltimore on Thursday night (September 12) for violating a protective order.
Before being booked, the 33-year-old was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for a pre-existing condition before he escaped the medical facility the following day.
According to court records obtained by the Baltimore Sun, there are three additional criminal cases currently pending against Clanton.
While on the run, Clanton posted on his Facebook page a bizarre status claiming police let him walk out of the hospital after he caught an officer who was guarding him snorting cocaine.
“Hilarious how EVERYBODY got something to say AND NOBODY is asking about my safety... Well this is what happened... I caught the officer sniffing a line cocaine from his backhand,” the Facebook post reads.
“When I said something about it he pulled a small handgun from his bag and said, ‘I would hate to say you had this and fill you with my Mag’ [Magnum pistol]. I walked to the door looking for another officer. He was the only one. During one of his episodes. I was alone and basically walked out of the front door,” the post continues. “I WILL NOT BECOME JUST ANOTHER NUMBER ON POLICE DART BOARDS....DO YOU REALLY THINK I WILL RUN BECAUSE OF A VIOLATION TO A PROTECTIVE Order.”
Police are asking the public to help track down Clanton, who is still at large.
Christopher Clanton Sr. appeared on the first and fifth season of The Wire, playing a low-level drug enforcer named Savino Bratton.
