Legendary actress and singer Diahann Carroll passed away on Friday after succumbing to cancer. She was 84.

The Hollywood icon left a lasting mark on the world, becoming the first Black woman to star in a non-servant role in television and earning a Tony Award and an Oscar nomination for her work in No Strings and Claudine, respectively.
