Black Twitter has been tired of Gina Rodriguez's antics for some time now. From her random rallying for Latinx inclusion when Black Panther was announced to her unnecessary interruption when a reporter acknowledged Yara Shahidi as a role model for Black women (a textbook "All Lives Matter" moment), the Jane the Virgin star quickly went from problematic fave to just plain problematic.

Just when we thought her infamous crocodile tears while discussing the backlash against her behavior on Sway in the Morning was rock bottom, things got worse. On Tuesday (October 15), Gina decided it would be fine to use the N-word while rapping along to Fugees lyrics in a video posted to Instagram. Nah, sis.

Rodriguez, who appeared to be getting her hair and makeup done, posted a video of herself rapping along to the song, and didn't miss a beat when the N-word came up.

  1. Social media got wind of the faux pas, and within minutes her comments were flooded and thousands of tweets were fired off admonishing the move. Rodriguez quickly deleted the video, and later returned to her Instagram Stories to "apologize":

"I'm sorry if I offended anyone," she said. "I love Lauryn Hill and I really am sorry if I offended you."

  2. In case it's not obvious, the so-called apology only added fuel to the fire on social media. The Emmy-winning actress has been trending all afternoon for all the wrong reasons.
