There is a key demographic that helped get Trump elected in 2016 -- 52 percent of white women. This is a fact that many white feminists conveniently seem to forget when calling upon people of color to save us from another four years of 45, and actress Rose McGowan is just the latest to come under fire with her most recent tweets.
The former Charmed actress wrote on her Twitter, “I’m a registered Republican in California. I loathe the Clintons. I hate Trump. I will not vote Republican, but I cannot vote Democrat. I’d rather know what evil I’m getting, so I’ll go Republican. This is about WWIII, so none of that shit matters anyway. #TeamStayAlive #RoseArmy.”
McGowan claims in her Twitter bio she is here “to help society be better.” Going Republican or not voting at all is supporting Trump. Clearly, her money and privilege make it so she’s able to ignore children in cages, American citizens like Rep. Ilhan Omar being harassed by the most powerful man on the planet, attacks on the press, Roe v. Wade at risk of being overturned and the constant racism from the White House.
