That One Time Dame Dash Smacked Harvey Weinstein In The Face

Clearly he beat a lot of people to the punch.

Dispet is back with a new song. The Harlem-based rap collective recently dropped “Once Upon a Time,” and the track is recalling a bunch of old memories.

The single, which features only two members of the group – Jim Jones and Cam’Ron – demonstrates their clever wordplay and elite pen game. But the song also references the time that Dame Dash smacked now-disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein in the face on the set of the 2002’s Paid In Full.

“Who wants smoke, I have it looking like a hookah bar," Cam spits. "Welcome back to the hallway loiterers/I made mills off the white girl, I exploited her/No disrespecting the ladies, word from my team (why)/That's the reason Dame smacked Harvey Weinstein/On the set of Paid In Full, y'all gave him hell about it/Some foul shit happened once, Capo, tell 'em about it.”

Unfortunately, Cam didn’t flesh out the story of how Dame and Weinstein bumped heads, but the reference is especially relevant to today’s social climate, considering that a lot of people would also like to slap the movie executive. As previously reportedly, Weinstein has been accused of sexually assaulting and harassing more than 20 women within the music industry. He’s reportedly been removed from his renowned film company following the flood of allegations. So, it looks like Dame beat everyone to the punch.

In other news, Dipset is gearing up for a reunion show in New York City along with A$AP Mob next week (Nov. 21). Listen to Dipset’s “Once Upon a Time” below.
