North Carolinian rap icon J. Cole is joining the extensive list of hip-hop supporters lifting 21 Savage in prayer amid News of 21’s initial arrest stunned the hip-hop and Hollywood community over the weekend as fans sought high and low for answers that might explain the abrupt ICE arrest of the Atlanta trap star. According to one spokesperson of the government agency, he’s said to be an unlawful United Kingdom-born citizen in America. Thereafter, sources uncovered the birth certificate of 21, real name Shayaa Bin Abraham-Jospeph, proving that he is indeed a UK-native, but was brought to America by his parents at such a young age that he would likely have little to no memory of the overseas territory. Petitions and rallies for the “X” artist’s freedom ravaged like wildfire through the internet, along with memes and mockery denounced by several fans (and even some of 21’s industry counterparts themselves). Instead of joining in on that side of the controversy, the Dreamville leader clasped together his prayers hands to the man upstairs for 21 and the sake of his children.
And after wiping their tears, Cole fans are following suit. See his message to 21 and other fans praying for his freedom below:
