Joycelyn Savage’s Instagram is getting some action after she posted an obscure message on the social site following a nearly two-year hiatus.

  1. One of R. Kelly's many girlfriends said that she needed to reveal something that is long overdue — without specifying what that something is.

  2. Gaining 29,000 likes in just one hour, her followers are eagerly waiting for Savage’s big unveil. She appeared on CBS This Morning with Azriel Clary, another girlfriend of Kelly’s, and on TMZ earlier this year to tell viewers that she was free and not being held by Kelly against her will, despite claims from her family to the contrary.

After the Surviving R. Kelly documentary series premiered, Savage’s father publicly spoke out in a statement responding to his daughter’s appearance on the CBS daytime show, asking for prayer.

  3. It is unclear whether or not Savage’s big reveal is connected to Kelly.

According to the Rolling Stone, Gerald Griggs, an attorney for the Savage family, posted a follow-up tweet that the 23-year-old reached out to her parents and made it clear that she was with Kelly by choice.

  4. A video of the phone call Savage made to her family surfaced, which looked to be rehearsed: “I have told you guys a million, million times that I am OK where I am and I’m happy, so I just want to let you know that,” she said.

  5. Surviving R. Kelly won Best Documentary at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards, Special Distinction at the Banff Television Festival, Outstanding TV Documentary or Special at the Black Reel Awards for Television, and Limited Documentary Series at the Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards.

It was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Informational Series or Special, Outstanding Achievement in News and Information at the Television Critics Association Awards, and Best Reality or Non-Fiction Program at the Online Film & Television Association.
