Mariah Carey: "It's Time!" For Christmas In Video Posted To Instagram A Day After Halloween

The Queen of Christmas has spoken.

The Queen of Christmas has spoken.

  • In anticipation of the forthcoming Christmas season, Mariah Carey took to social media to bid goodbye to Halloween and usher in the winter holiday early. In a clip posted to Twitter on Sunday (Nov. 1), a ghoul is seen making its way through Carey’s house before the creature comes to a cobweb-ridden door with the ominous message “NOT YET” written in black along with red and orange handprints. The ghoul opens the door to reveal Carey inside a room styled to look like a magical winter wonderland.

  • Seated on a makeshift bed of snow in a red onesie before a pair of glittery Christmas trees, Carey checks her watch before she happily declares, “it’s time” with a wide smile and jingles her bells as “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” begins to play. Though, there was one caveat. Before the video ends, a message reads, “It’s time. (But let’s get through Thanksgiving first).”

  • Naturally, her loyal fanbase, the Lambily, were just as equally excited for the forthcoming holiday. Even Jennifer Hudson slipped into her comment section on Instagram, writing, “Let’s go! My Christmas music starts today.”

  • Carey has been busy celebrating the 30th anniversary of her debut album amid the release of her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, over the  past few months. More recently, she sparked speculation of a possible collaboration with Hudson and Ariana Grande. In early October, she shared a photo on Instagram, showing three chairs on what appeared to be a music video shoot. The middle seat had the initials “MC embroidered on the back while the other two read “JH” and “AG.” The Caution singer captioned the post with a solitary Christmas tree emoji.

  • It remains to be seen what she has in store, but the songstress definitely has something up her sleeves for fans.
