Playboi Carti Confirms ‘Whole Lotta Red’ Release Date

Playboi Carti has made it official. His next album, Whole Lotta Red, is set to come out on Christmas Day.

After months of speculation and hints about its release date, Carti recently posted the pre-order link for Whole Lotta Red on social media. This was followed by a tweet that revealed that it would drop on “12/25.” DJ Akademiks had recently suggested that the project would arrive then.

Carti announced Whole Lotta Red in 2018 and, in the time since, countless snippets and teases about its release have circled around social media. Back in November, Carti revealed that the album was complete. At the time, he also shared a snippet of a collaboration with Kanye West that could potentially make the project. 

Earlier this month, Carti posted a picture with Kid Cudi and announced that he would appear on Whole Lotta Red

Carti’s debut studio album, Die Lit, came out in 2018. The LP, which features Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, and more, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in July of 2019.
