Get ready for more chatter from your favorite ladies of morning talk! The Real has been renewed for two more seasons, making it the first syndicated talk show in years to last more than a couple of seasons.
The show, hosted by Tamera Mowry-Housley, Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai, originally aired as a trial run in the summer of 2013 but quickly earned a permanent spot on Fox's lineup and, of course, on BET. A two-season pickup is a great sign of confidence that the show will continue to resonate with young women from diverse backgrounds, just as it has been doing.
This past February, the show celebrated its 100th episode and they can count on celebrating many more after this renewal. “The Real in its second season has expanded on its promise of connecting with the diverse daytime television viewers and is delivering substantial ratings growth in the process," Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution President Ken Werner says. "The series did not invent this genre of television program, nor are they only talk panel on television, but what The Real has done is differentiate itself from the others, quickly becoming an original, distinct and entertaining hour that has giving viewers a reason to make an appointment each and every day.”
Season two kicked off with the first-ever television interview with Bobby Brown after the tragic death of his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. From the death of a music scion to the dangers of bikini waxes, the show manages to cover a wide range of topics with humor and grace. Congratulations to the ladies!
