Kanye West Apologizes for Grammy Outburst

"If I hadn't done that, his Album of the Year wouldn't have been mentioned," the rapper said.

During his highly anticipated return to Power 105's The Breakfast Club, Kanye West touched on a few hot topics surrounding him and his family. From slamming ex-flame Amber Rose to defending Tyga and Kylie Jenner's friendship, 'Ye left no stone unturned. He even went on to apologize for his mild-yet-notable outburst against Beck at the 2015 Grammys.

In the sit-down with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy, Yeezy explained that the backlash he received was warranted since he is known as an advocate for artistry: "I deserved it, man. That was completely hypocritical," he said.

He even revealed that he hadn't heard Beck's LP until he went to dinner with "I'ma let you finish..." victim No. 1: Taylor Swift, following the 2015 Grammys: "The other day, I went to dinner and sat down with Taylor Swift, and ironically, they were playing the Beck album. I was like, man, this is kinda good. I'm not gon' lie," he said. "I hadn't even heard it, man."

When asked if he had reached out to Beck singer following the stage ambush, he said he has the means to but hasn't come around to it just yet: "I got his number and I was supposed to call, but I just keep forgetting."

Though he now believes that Beck's album may have been noteworthy, 'Ye still thinks the Album of the Year accolade was a bit of a reach. "He should win an award for what he did... rock album or something like that. But he shouldn't have won that award, in my opinion," he said.

All in all, West agrees that Beck is the ultimate winner in this situation, all thanks, of course, to Yeezus: "The person that won the most was Beck because if I hadn't done that, his Album of the Year wouldn't have been mentioned," he said. "I'm already the enemy, so you can't get [any] worse than the villain."
