Chi-Town spitter brings back jazz with Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment.

The Mr. Happy acting bug that bit Chance, the Rapper has him pulling out a new persona for his latest effort.

Though his name is left off of the album credits for the surprise, Surf it's billed as Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment he staked his claim with the announcement and the download link to the collection, available for free on iTunes now (#SAVEMONEY).

BJ the Chicago Kid, Busta Rhymes, J. Cole and Jeremih are among the other "hidden" vocal features, while Trumpet makes his wind instrument sound like water, and the rest of the Social Experiment band uses its instruments to help revisit the jazz era, which hip hop has so eloquently reclaimed these days.

You know, back to when Black people were with "not a care in the world, or a pot for the p*ss," Chance illustrates on the opening track, "Miracles."

For him, it's a different sound than what won him the BET Hip Hop Awards nomination for Best Mixtape with Acid Rap, but he rocks comfortably with the notes. "I'm a really big jazz head," he told 106 & Park back in 2013. "I like a lot of other alternative music and stuff, but I mean, it's hip hop." Also, "I got hot bars."

Remember what Chance, the Rapper said he would do if he ever came in contact with a real life Martian? Watch in the 106 & Rewind video below.
