K. Michelle: I'm Not an R&B Artist
Don’t call K. Michelle an "R&B artist, because she doesn’t consider herself one. The singer, says she’s just “music,” versus any particular genre.
Michelle is going through a creative transformation while prepping her third studio album. As she explained on Instagram yesterday, a meeting with famed songwriter Diane Warren helped solidify her new direction.
Michelle’s last two LPs, Rebellious Soul and Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart?, were both R&B releases, and have sold 890,000 copies combined.
No matter what box she’s in, the 31-year-old’s vocal talent can bring just about any house down. Watch her performance at the 2015 BET Awards below.
