Founder Rob Stone, Editor-in-Chief Naomi Zeichner and VP of Content Joseph Patel join the Sway in the Morning crew for an engaging conversation about Drake’s status as an icon, ghostwriters and highlights of his first interview with a magazine since Rolling Stone’s story in 2014.
Throughout FADER’s history, the magazine has been known as “the definitive source for emerging music and the culture that surrounds it.” FADER has evolved into a credible brand that can take on challenges of telling the right stories for bigger stars in pop culture like Drizzy and RiRi.
The stories, which are available online here and here, define why these two are so important to their fans, as well as examine their incredible years so far. During their interview, Sway and FADER dissect Drake’s responses to Meek Mill with Zeichner, saying, “I think we don’t bat an eyelash when pop producers, pop songwriters make songs by committee, make amazing songs and give them to the world. I think that the intricacies of Drake’s songwriting process are sort of for him, but I think what we tried to really do in this story was to really break down, sort of scientifically, what makes him so engaging.”
Later on, they talk about the landscape of journalism in the digital space, the difference between journalist, writer and blogger, and much more. Watch it in full below.
