Last week, Twitter was on fire with the release of Drake’s two new singles, “Pop Style” and “One Dance.” Opinions ranged from praise to harsh critique claiming Drizzy took a more mediocre route than fans expected. It wasn’t long before the Canadian rapper dropped an extended version of “Pop Style,” the song many claim was made by Jay Z and Kanye West’s features.
It may be a little puzzling that the track many are using as an example of “Drake’s mediocrity” is the same track he extends. Per usual, Drake has more than a cute two words for his doubters:
“Lot of y’all ain’t built for the league, yeah / Trade you off the team while you in your sleep, yeah.”
Needless to say, this is great traction for Drake’s upcoming album. The question, however, remains: Will the public regard it as an instant classic or rip it to shreds?
