Marquay Collins, the 24-year-old TikTok creator known to millions as “Marquay the Goat,” was found dead at his Columbus, Georgia, home on Nov. 26, the Muscogee County coroner confirmed. TMZ first reported the news; the death was pronounced at 6:20 a.m., and investigators say the case is currently listed as “undetermined.” 

New details from Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan indicate Collins had been involved in a car crash in Atlanta on Nov. 7 and was treated and released from the hospital the same day. “After returning home, he was complaining of headaches, neck, shoulder and spine pain,” Bryan told People, adding that Collins had also spoken to his brother about “shortness of breath” and a “headache.” Authorities say Collins’ body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in Decatur for an autopsy and that toxicology and further testing are pending. 

Collins rose to prominence with lighthearted comedy and lifestyle videos, including viral food and car clips, and had roughly 7.1 million followers on TikTok. Tributes poured in across social platforms as fans and peers reacted to the sudden, tragic news. Local outlets reported emergency crews were called after concerns about breathing difficulties, and family members confirmed the loss.

His mother, Sonja Collins, broke the news in a Nov. 26 Facebook post and wrote, “My heart is broken. My baby, my last one, my SnuggaBug, my Marquay is no longer here with me❣️.” In the same post she added, “He was the sweetest person he didn’t have a mean bone in his body❣️ I needed him longer than God allowed me to have him❣️He spoiled me and his Dad, Elzie, he always said because we spoiled him❣️Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers, enjoy the rest of your day❣️”

At this time, investigators have not released an official cause of death. Officials say the autopsy and toxicology results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation will be key to determining whether injuries from the Nov. 7 crash contributed to Collins’ unexpected passing.
