George H.W. Bush Passes Away At 94

George Herbert Walker Bush, the 41st President of the United States, has passed away at the age of 94.

  1. Bush died late Friday (November 30) at his home in Houston. His death was announced by his son and fellow president George W. Bush.

    H.W. was born the son of a senator and was a decorated World War II combat pilot, student athlete, oilman, Republican congressman, national party chairman, diplomat, head of the Central Intelligence Agency and Vice President.

    In 1988, he defeated Democrat Michael Dukakis for the presidency and served one term before being replaced by Bill Clinton in 1993. Earlier this year, Bush’s wife of 73 years, Barbara, died at age 92.

    George H.W. Bush had been dealing with health issues for years and was in-and-out of the hospital numerous times prior to his passing. He will be buried alongside other family members at his presidential library in College Station, Texas.

    Prior to his burial, Bush will lie at the US Capitol before a memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. A second memorial service will follow at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston. He will then be taken by a motorcade procession to College Station.
