Look: Should Gabby Douglas Have Put Her Hand Over Her Heart During the National Anthem?

The star gymnast said this to critics of her actions at the team gold medal ceremony.

It didn't matter that the U.S. women's gymnastics team just won the gold medal in the team final competition Tuesday.

That didn't save Gabrielle Douglas from being roasted on social media for something she didn't do during the squad's gold medal ceremony.

Douglas was the only member of the Final Five team to not drape her right hand over her heart during the ceremony. Instead, Gabby just kept her hands to her sides.

And that was enough to light Twitter on fire with backlash.

Wow ... all that for not putting her hand over her heart?

Not all athletes, or regular people for that matter, cross their heart during the National Anthem, so why come down hard on Gabby?

The backlash even led to Gabby tweeting an apology.

That being said, many Twitter users had Gabby's back as well.

What's your take on this?
