As ugly as Scottie Pippen's divorce filing has been looking thus far, there seems to be some hope for the NBA Hall of Famer and his wife, Larsa, to save their marriage.
The New York Post's Page Six reported Tuesday that the couple is likely to reconcile, despite the kinds of scathing reports that have surfaced since the six-time NBA champion first filed for divorce last week.
A rep for Larsa told the newspaper that the couple's split has more to do with Scottie's desire to take an ESPN job and move to Chicago than it does about her reported relationship with Future. In addition, Larsa's rep thinks the couple will reconcile.
“I’m fairly certain they’re going to make up," the rep said. "He’s sending her messages. They’re communicating. I don’t think they’re going to pull the trigger. He was saying, ‘I miss you. Let’s talk.’ She’s feeling the same way. When it rains, it pours, but Scottie’s at a different place. She’s at a different place, and they’re just figuring it out.”
Part of that "different place" that Larsa's rep is referring to seems to be another source with knowledge of the couple saying that the former reality show stunner is all about "clubs and rappers and DJs" and the overall "Kardashian Instagram lifestyle," while the retired NBA superstar "just wants to play golf and stay low-key."
To that, Larsa's rep insists that Pippen "has had no problems with her social media."
The rep added: “I believe he took a new job in Chicago working with ESPN as an analyst for the Chicago Bulls. It’s a job-related thing, and he’s always preferred Chicago over Miami (where the Pippens reside), so that’s always been an issue, but that’s nothing new. He wants to reside fully in Chicago and she loves Miami. They’ve been texting nonstop. And she’s like, ‘Is this really how it’s going to end? We’ve been through so much together.’ She was a little bit caught off guard [by his divorce filing].”
Larsa's rep added that the tension initially sparked between the couple when Scottie "brought another woman to a playoff game." However, the same rep didn't comment about Larsa's rumored relationship with Future.
This possible reconciliation story comes a day after it was reported that Pippen wanted to amend his prenup so that Larsa wouldn't be able to touch any of his $50 million fortune.
That same report also had Pippen requesting a Florida court for full custody over their four children: Scottie Jr., Preston, Justin and Sophia.
What do you think will happen with the Pippens?
