[Watch] Jon Jones Has Heated Confrontation With Cop

UFC star was arrested for violating his probation due to this drag-racing allegation.

UPDATE: No wonder Jon Jones was so upset about being pulled over by a cop for allegedly drag-racing and speeding last Thursday night.

The UFC star was arrested Tuesday for violating his probation stemming from a prior hit-and-run incident.

TMZ is reporting that a judge issued a warrant for Jones's arrest upon learning that he was cited for drag-racing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, last week. The terms of that probation included staying clear from any trouble with the law — something that Jones failed to do.

There's no telling at this point whether this legal setback will force Jones to miss his scheduled April 23 match with Daniel Cormier at UFC 197.

"Jon and his team are taking this very seriously and we will let the legal process play out," EAG Sports, which reps Jones, told TMZ. "We are confident he will be released once he has an opportunity to explain to the judge the facts in this case."

PREVIOUSLY: Jon Jones is less than a month away from facing Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23.

But on Thursday night, the UFC star found himself in a heated confrontation of a different kind — with a cop, while being pulled over on the side of the road.

According to TMZ Sports, the incident went down midnight in Albuquerque, New Mexico last Thursday, when Jones was pulled over on the suspicion of drag-racing in his white Corvette.

Within seconds, Jones makes it be known that he wasn't drag-racing or speeding at all and that the cop was simply pulling him over because he's driving a Corvette. Moments later, Jones calls his attorney, before calling the cop a "f****** liar" and a "pig." He additionally says, "you're despicable," to which the officer replied, "I feel the same way about you, sir."

Damn.

It remains to be seen if this could have any ramifications on Jones being on probation from a prior hit-and-run conviction.

Jones later released a statement in which he apologized, but reiterated that he wasn't drag-racing or speeding.

"I was not drag-racing nor was I speeding. I did not get a speeding ticket. I was driving within the speed limit of the 35-mph zone," Jones said, as reported by TMZ. "I feel that police used a technicality to ticket me for drag-racing, for simply revving my engine and acknowledging some of my local fans. I regrettably said words to the police officer out of frustration, for which I apologize for, but I do feel this was excessive."

The UFC additionally stated: "We are aware of the situation and are looking into the matter. We've also been in touch with Jon's team regarding the matter."

We guess the real video that we need to see here is the one of Jones driving to truly pinpoint whether or not he was wrongfully pulled over.
