Halsey will not have any natural hair slander.

23-year-old pop singer Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Frangipane, has been pretty adamant about letting the world know that she is biracial. When she graced the cover of Playboy, she surprised many of her fans by revealing that her father is half Black and she identifies as a Black woman. With her multi-colored wigs and her various braided hairstyles, people were pretty convinced that she was just another white star appropriating Black culture. Despite this, Halsey has used her position as a white-passing Black woman and continues to speak about her race.

On Friday (Aug. 10), Halsey shared a picture of her natural hair, which is rare since she usually wears protective hairstyles. 

Many fans commented on the post, praising Halsey for showing off her natural hair. She explained that she has been wearing wigs to grow back her hair after doing the big chop last year.

Other Twitter users came for Halsey, questioning her biracial identity, asking if her hair was a wig and comparing her hair to Annie. She did not have time for it at all.

This isn't the first time that the singer has spoken out about natural hair. In April, Halsey called out hotels for not carrying shampoo that caters to Black women. And of course, she received hate.
