The Internet Does A Double Take Over Singer Halsey's New Cornrows

"I’m proud to be in a biracial family, I’m proud of who I am, and I’m proud of my hair."

Another week, another braided slay?

Turns out singer Halsey was in the mood to test out the iconic Beyoncé's Lemonade look herself. She stepped out at Jingle Ball New York right after Nicki Minaj hit us with "Pink Lemonade 2.0" braids in the "MotorSport" video.

Coincidence? We think not! See for yourself below:

But before you start to drag Halsey for filth (a.k.a. cultural appropriation), it turns out the 23-year-old identifies as Black — her father is Black and her mother is Italian and Hungarian. She previously spoke to Playboy about her racial background earlier this year.

"I’m proud to be in a biracial family, I’m proud of who I am, and I’m proud of my hair," she shared. "Every now and then I experience these racial blips. I look like a white girl, but I don’t feel like one. I’m a black woman."

OK, now that that's cleared up, here is an up close look at the Lemonade-inspired style braids created by editorial/celebrity hairstylist Lacy Redway.

Scrolling through her Instagram, you can quickly see Halsey is no stranger to braided styles.
