Just before the Mother's Day weekend festivities kicked off, Sheree Fletcher AKA Will Smith’s ex-wife and the mother of his oldest son Trey Smith was under fire for a #TBT post Instagram. Why? The “suspect” photo features Sheree, Will, and Trey back when they were married. Folks sounded off in the comments saying the post was inappropriate and disrespectful to his wife. Hmm…
Well, Sheree had the TIME and responded to some of the comments. She said although she loves the father of her child she does not want Jada’s man. She even tagged Jada Pinkett-Smith and said they should talk about it in the next episode of Jada’s Facebook talk show, Red Table Talk.
The post came off the heels of an episode where Jada invited Sheree to talk co-mothering and revealed she started dating Will when he was still legally married to his first wife. If you've followed the Smith Family throughout the years, then you’re aware that their blended family didn’t get off to such a great start, but since the women have developed a friendship.
Now Sheree has been posting up promo for the show on her social media and even tagged Red Table Talk on the image. Seems innocent enough, no? Even Will has hit his Instagram to joke about his ex and wife getting together on-camera.
Will, Jada, Sheree and their whole brood seem to be in a great place and have been successfully co-parenting for years so if they’re happy, can’t we be happy for them? I think we can, if we retired the catty ex-wife stigma that has somehow found it’s way into 2018. Exes, new partners, mothers, fathers can be friends or at least respect each other, especially when children are involved. And the Smiths and Sheree seem to be a great example of that.
But what do you think? Did Sheree take the show promo TOO far? Or is the photo all in good family fun?
