Chiwetel Ejiofor


Beginning his acting career on the stage, Chiwetelu Umeadi “Chiwetel” Ejiofor made his movie debut in the 1996 TV film Deadly Voyage. Of Nigerian descent, the British thespian quickly morphed into an acclaimed actor in England, winning numerous awards for his performances in popular films and stage plays. The five-time Golden Globe nominee is also known for roles in American films such as Amistad, 2012, Four Brothers and American Gangster. He earned a Best Actor nomination from both the Academy and Golden Globe Awards for his electric performance in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave.
