Derek Luke


Derek Luke made his Hollywood acting debut in 2002's Antwone Fisher, which was directed and produced by Denzel Washington.  Since then, the New Jersey native has been in several Spike Lee films, including Miracle at St. Anna, and took on the role of Sean "Puffy" Combs in the 2009 Biggie Smalls biopic Notorious.  On the TV side, he acted opposite Jada Pinkett-Smith in the hospital drama HawthoRNe.  In 2003, Luke was nominated for a BET Best Actor Award. He recently starred in the remake of the 1970’s classic Sparkle and will play in the upcoming film Baggage Claim opposite Paula Patton, Trey Songz and Taye Diggs. Luke currently stars as Malcolm DeVeaux on the popular FOX drama Empire.
