Based on Ntozake Shange's 1975 play and book For Colored Girl Who have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, For Colored Girls hit theaters November 2010. With industry vets like Phylicia Rashad, Janet Jackson, Kimberly Elise and Whoopi Goldberg, the drama explores the struggles and triumphs of nine African-American women. Written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry, For Colored Girls has received numerous awards and honors, including a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Motion Picture.
