Ray J’s mother, Sonja Norwood, has entered the chat!

The superstar momma stepped into the spotlight this week with a blunt social-media declaration, defending her son and directly challenging Kris Jenner over the long-running dispute about the infamous sex tape involving Kim Kardashian. 

Momma Norwood’s message was plain and pointed: “After reading the declarations from Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian, and reading their recent statements circulating, including reports published across multiple media outlets regarding the tape, I am no longer going to sit back and watch my son be ‘dogged’ on social media over this matter when Ray J and I, Kris and Kim, and many others know the truth.” She added a direct challenge to Jenner’s earlier denials: “And Kris, momager, you say you did not orchestrate the commercial release of the tape. Then who did?”

The post came after public statements and sworn declarations from Jenner and Kardashian saying they didn’t collude to release the sex tape. According to TMZ, Kardashian said, "[Ray J's] claim that I had a plan with my mother and others to release a sex tape, defraud the public, and file a 'fake' lawsuit against the porn company that released it to 'create buzz' is a lie.” Jenner doubled down and said she didn’t "make my daughter Kim film any sex tape or decide what tape to release, as Defendant further outrageously claimed in his cross-complaint. As a mother, the notion that I orchestrated or produced sex tapes involving my daughter, or was in any way involved in the creation or distribution of any sex tapes, is not only entirely untrue but deeply offensive and harmful and has haunted me for decades." 

Jenner and Kardashian filed a defamation suit against Ray J late last year. He responded by filing a countersuit and additional claims alleging, among other things, that the parties breached prior settlement terms and that the tape’s release was orchestrated — allegations the Kardashians deny. 

Norwood’s intervention came as a moral stand and a promise of persistence. “I support Ray J and his journey to bring the truth forward. I have witnessed this journey for many years, and however long it takes, whether it becomes a long journey or a difficult battle, we will stay on that path until the voices that have distorted the truth are publicly revealed.” She closed the post invoking faith and final reckoning: “And if that truth journey must continue all the way to the doorstep of God’s judgment, then so be it.” 

Jenner and Kardashian’s legal teams have pushed back hard in court filings and public statements, while Ray J says he’s pursuing the record he believes will clear his name. Sonja Norwood’s post makes it plain that the family intends to keep the fight public and legal until what they say is true, is revealed.
