Tiffany Haddish Takes A Real ‘Girls Trip’ On New Docuseries
Comedian Tiffany Haddish is going on a “Girls Trip” for real!
Haddish has a new show where she links up with her three closest childhood girlfriends Selena Martin, Shermona Long, and Sparkle Clark, to fly out to Africa for a four-week-long adventure exploring the continent and their connection to it.
“Tiffany Haddish Goes Off” is a six-part docuseries following the superstar and her friends from Cape Town, South Africa, to Victoria Falls, and Harare in Zimbabwe, to Zanzibar, Tanzania. The audience has the opportunity to see the women bonding, confiding, confessing, and growing on this journey.
Haddish said the idea wasn’t hers alone. “I don't know if you know Shondrella Avery, but she, you know, she's a producer on it as well. And it was her idea that, you know, you should just take your friends on the trip.” She pushed for Africa specifically. “I was like, well, if we take them on a trip, I want to go to Africa,” Haddish told BET exclusively.
The series mixes adventure with intentional vulnerability. Haddish explained why she allowed the cameras into her personal life, “If you ask me the right questions, I'm going to talk about it… now you got me sitting here with my girls. I'm going to divulge everything.”
The cast, Haddish and her girls, described the trip as grounding and transformational. Clark said, “It felt good. It felt like grounding. I felt more inspired.”
“I'm building a bridge,” Haddish said. She described the series as a way to shift how Africa is seen and to connect with diasporic communities.
Between bonfires, recipe swaps, quiet conversations, and a marriage, “Tiffany Haddish Goes Off” is a travel series with a lot more going on than jet-setting.
