Chris Redd Updates Fans After Being Attacked Outside New York Comedy Club

“Thank you for all the messages of love, the jokes and the concern!” he said in an Instagram story.

Chris Redd is updating his fans after he was attacked in front of the Comedy Cellar in New York City last week.

Heading to his Instagram on Sunday (Oct. 30) the actor and recent Saturday Night Live alum provided insight on his current health status after he was punched in the face by an unidentified suspect as he was exiting a car outside of the front entrance of the comedy club.

“I’ve been resting up like crazy but I want to say thank you thank you thank you for all the messages of love, the jokes and the concern!” Redd wrote, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m OK and healing fast!”

The 37-year-old also confirmed that his shows that had been canceled following the altercation were set to be scheduled.

“I’ll be back up and talking some good shit very soon!!!” he said.

His next show is still scheduled for Nov. 11 in Tacoma, Washington.

The New York Police Department started a preliminary investigation following the Wednesday (Oct. 26) incident and confirmed that Redd was approached by an individual, who has yet to be identified, “without prior conversation or provocation.”

Redd was left with a laceration to his face, and taken to a local hospital to be treated before ultimately being released.
