Talib Kweli Recalls Meeting MC Hammer

Twitter's sure produced some odd pairings in recent memory. Complimentary tweets between Kanye West and Justin Bieber led to the two pop stars teaming up with Raekwon for a remix of Biebz's "Runaway."

More recently Talib Kweli revealed that he and Mos Def recorded a few Black Star songs at MC Hammer's home recording studio last summer. Again, it all started on Twitter.

"We [Black Star] did a show in  Oakland with Dave Chapelle at a comedy club," Kweli told BET.com. "Hammer is somebody I befriended on Twitter. He was like, “Yo, I heard you’re in town,  you wanna do some work, I have a studio.

"There’s sort of a running joke Mos Def has with me, Mos Def is always making fun of me, he’s like, 'You’ll just hang out with any rapper,'" Kwe continued. "I seen him in the hallway and I’m like, "Yo, I’m about to go f**k with Hammer. Mos was like, 'I would love to hang out with Hammer. So, Hammer came to pick me up and we went to the studio and it wasn’t a plan necessarily to do Black Star songs, but we ended up recording a couple of things."
