Floetry Returns: ‘Say Yes’ Tour Brings Neo-Soul Duo Back for First National Run in a Decade
Wow, it’s like it’s 2016 again!
Floetry is back on tour! The neo-soul duo of Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie “the Floacist” Stewart announced Say Yes — The Tour, their first national run together in 10 years, produced by the Black Promoters Collective (BPC). The 16-city trek kicks off April 9 in Newark and wraps May 17 in Oakland, bringing a rare live R&B lineup that pairs Floetry’s lyrical intimacy with soul superstars Raheem DeVaughn and Teedra Moses.
“This tour is an example of why R&B music endures,” as stated in the press release. Floetry’s platinum debut “Floetic” helped normalize spoken-word cadence and poetic storytelling inside R&B, and the duo’s catalog — from “Floetic” to “Flo’Ology” — still soundtrack romances and late-night playlists ‘til this day. The press release describes the run as “an opportunity for audiences to experience Floetry’s music as it was always intended: live, intimate, and emotionally immersive.”
The lineup is built for fans who want musicianship and lyricism over trend-chasing. DeVaughn, known for his romantic, socially aware jams, brings his devoted following, while Moses — whose work is a touchstone for R&B purists — joins on select dates. SoulBounce noted the tour will also feature DJ Aktive’s “Chill Vibes” sets and host Clint Coley on the bill, adding some lively fun between sets.
Local, venue, and promoter presales began Feb. 12 (use code BPC), and general on-sale opened Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. local time. The itinerary covers major markets: Newark (NJPAC), Baltimore (Lyric), Philadelphia (The Met), Chicago (Chicago Theatre), Detroit, D.C. (The Anthem), Atlanta (The Arena at Southlake), Los Angeles (The Novo), and more — with a final stop on May 17 at Oakland’s Paramount Theatre. Full dates are listed below.
Floetry helped usher in an era when poets, not just singers, could center soul on R&B records. Their return on the road is a reminder that the quiet, soulful moments still move crowds and that the artists who built those moments are still relevant tastemakers. This reunion also marks a milestone in legacy touring: artists from the early-2000s neo-soul wave are reclaiming space on major stages, bringing longform albums and authentic live arrangements back into the mainstream concert cycle.
This run looks poised to be the spring’s must-see tour for R&B lovers and a welcome, soulful reminder of why Floetry’s poetry-first approach is timeless.
