Tina Turner's Children: Everything to Know About the Music Legend's 4 Sons

The late singer was known to be 'extremely strict' as a mother.

Since her passing last week at the age of 83, new insights into Tina Turner's remarkable life are emerging.

The singer was mother to four sons, Craig, Ike Jr., Michael, and Ronnie.

The 2021 HBO documentary, Tina, featured an interview with Craig from 2000. "She really took to raising us personally because basically that was her happiness to a certain extent," he said, according to People. Her sons described her as "extremely strict," with Craig adding, "We had to do our chores, we had to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the same time." [LINK]

Craig died by suicide in 2018. After his passing, the icon shared a tribute on Twitter, writing, "My saddest moment as a mother. On Thursday, July 19, 2018, I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California. He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby."

Four years later, Turner lost another son when Ronnie died of colon cancer.

According to People, the iconic singer wrote a tribute to him on Instagram, saying, "Ronnie, you left the world far too early," she wrote. "In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you. My beloved son."

Turner admitted that she had a strained relationship with her sons including refusing to support them financially.

Ike Turner Jr. was the son who most followed in his famous parents footsteps. For a while he was a sound engineer for his mother. He did engineering for his father, eventually earning a Grammy for an album they did together, Risin' with the Blues.

Currently, Ike Jr. plays in a tribute band called The Love Thang; they released the song "Yes To Life" with singer Sweet Randi Love in 2022. "All I try to do is do the right thing with the name," he told The Daily Mail. "I go out there and do my best."
