‘Real Housewives’ Star Mia Thornton Reveals Cancer Diagnosis

The Potomac star wrote a heartfelt Instagram post.

Mia Thornton, one of the recent castmates to join Bravo’s hit unscripted drama Real Housewives of Potomac, has revealed that she is battling cancer.

Thornton, 38, revealed the news about her diagnosis in a cautionary Instagram post to her friends and fans. She is seen posing in a selfie at what looks like a hospital room.

“Same time last week, Doc called at 7:31am — Mia I’m so sorry but your test results came back and I need you to go to Johns Hopkins Cancer Center today,” Thornton wrote. “ You can only imagine the overwhelming amount of emotion G and I endured trying to figure out why. However, even with such terrible news, I felt an extreme amount of peace and energy instilled that allowed me to remain strong”

Many of Thornton’s colleagues from other Bravo franchises offered the rising star support in the comments, including Eboni K. Williams and Sheree Whitfield.

“Prayers and healing to you beautiful,” Drew Sidora, who appeared in ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta, wrote.

“You’re in my prayers beauty,” reality TV producer Carlos King added.

Thornton said she has been in and out of personal care visits with specialist, and as she continues her fight the experience was “changing” her.

“I know God has a plan and I know we are often challenged to remain humbled that tomorrow is not promised and that our days on this earth are numbered,” she wrote.

Although Thornton has not said what form of cancer she is battling, she offered a message from the heart.

“A gentle reminder to Live, Love & Forgive as if today was your last. Be great Kings & Queens,” Thornton wrote.
