Report: Apple's New Beats Streaming Service Will Be Cheaper Than TIDAL and Spotify

While the service doesn’t launch until this summer, early details were leaked to the website 9 to 5 Mac. The new and improved streaming outlet is likely to be named “Apple Music,” with a model that pulls from Apple’s discontinued iTunes Ping service.

Artists will have their own pages where they can share tracks, videos, photos, concert updates and promote other artists. In addition, users will be able to comment on the posts of major artists, but won’t have their own profiles.

Pricing has been a big debate concerning Spotify's free-tier and $9.99 monthly service, compared to TIDAL's $9.99 lower option and $19.99 hi-def service.

Apple has reportedly urged record labels to eliminate Sptoify's free tier.
