Influential Bay Area Producer Traxamillion Reportedly Dies
Traxamillion, an instrumental hip hop producer in the Bay Area’s hyphy movement, has reportedly died. He was 43.
News of Traxamillion's passing began surfacing on social media Sunday, January 2.
No information has officially been released regarding a cause of death or when exactly he died, but TMZ was one of the first publications to announce the influential producer had passed away.
Bay Area legend E-40 posted a tribute to Traxamillion via his Instagram account and seemed to imply that he died from cancer.
A San Jose native, Traxamillion, born Sultan Banks, was very influential in the Bay Area's hyphy scene, producing songs like Keak da Sneak’s “Super Hyphy” and Dem Hoodstarz “Grown Man Remix.”
In regards to his own catalog, Traxamillion’s debut album, The Slapp Addict compilation was released in 2006 and featured many Bay Area artists, including Too Short, Mistah F.A.B., Zion I and Izz Thizz. In 2012, he released his second studio LP, My Radio, and the Traxamillion Did It mixtape.
