Sandra Bullock Broke Down In Front Of The ‘Black Panther’ Cast For The Most Touching Reason

The movie was extremely personal for her.

Black Panther's fans range beyond Marvel comic fanatics and, frankly, people within the African diaspora. In fact, the film has immensely impacted one of Hollywood's most cherished actresses, Sandra Bullock, who recently spoke out about the visceral reaction she had while speaking to the cast about the blockbuster smash.

On the Oscar's red carpet, the Ocean's 8 star opened up about what the film meant to her, especially being the mother of a Black boy.

"I started to cry backstage when I was telling [the Black Panther cast not only] how much the film meant to me as a woman, but how much it meant to me as a mother," she said. "That says a lot about where we are in this world, and in the world of superheroes."

While Bullock said she believes her son is too young to see the action film, she explained that she has so much gratitude for what the film represents as her little one can now grow up seeing images of himself on grand platforms like this.

"I'm so grateful to Marvel because about five years ago, my son asked me if there were any brown Legos," she said. "And I said, 'Yes, there are,' and I got a Sharpie and I turned Spider-Man brown, I turned the Legos brown, and I don't have to turn them brown anymore."
