A$AP Mob Announces 2020 Date For Yams Day

Tickets go on sale this Friday, Nov. 15.

On what would have marked fallen A$AP Mob member A$AP Yams’ 31st birthday, the rap collective announced on Wednesday (Nov. 13) that the fifth iteration of their annual celebration will take place at the Barclays Center on January 17.

  • The entire A$AP Mob is expected to perform at the show, annually dedicated to the architect behind the Harlem-founded A$AP Mob, with planned appearances from close friends of the Mob and other artists that have not yet been named.

  • According to an official press release for the event, tickets will go on sale online at Ticketmaster this coming Friday ( Nov. 15). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Always Strive and Prosper Foundation which was founded by Yams’ mother, Tatianna Rodriguez, after he tragically passed away at the age of 26 from a drug overdose in 2015.

  • A$AP Mob ring leader A$AP Rocky also earmarked his dear friend's birthday with a commemorative throwback video from one of their past trips to London posted to his Instagram.

“Backstory behind this video [is] we lost Yams in London for hours, We randomly found him hours later but he was too lit to be upset at by then, lol,”  the TESTING rapper reminisced of the occasion before he wished Yams a “happy birthday.”

  • A$AP Ferg followed up a few hours later with a post of his own where he also paid his respects.

"Happy Bday to Big A$AP LORD YAM$. We still got the wheels rolling and we won’t let up!!!” he wrote alongside three photos of the two from the Mob’s formative days.

  • Continue to rest in peace, Yams. BET’s thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones on this day.
