  • Kehlani Launches 'Nini’s Fluff & Fold' to Cover Laundry Costs for Single Moms in Seven Cities

Kehlani is turning one of her most emotional ballads into a real-world blessing. In celebration of her fan-favorite track “Folded,” the R&B star is giving back with Nini’s Fluff & Fold, which is a feel-good initiative offering free laundry services to single moms across seven major cities.

Announced on Instagram, the singer shared the inspiration behind the giveback.

“Growing up, I knew how hard it was for all the single mamas in my family to get the tasks done on top of it all. Clean clothes is a basic necessity. I got y’all.”

Powered by Engage Current and the singer’s brother City James, who helped bring the idea to life, the drop-in events will take place Saturday, August 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. local time in Los Angeles, Oakland, Charlotte, Chicago, Atlanta, D.C., and NYC.

It’s first come, first served, and the R&B singer made it clear that this is a giveback, not a meet-and-greet. She won’t be in attendance, but her heart (and playlist) are definitely in the spin cycle.

  • From Prison to Producer: How James Severe Turned Setbacks Into a Second Chance at Roc Nation

When James Severe first stepped onto West Virginia’s campus in 2012, football was the dream. But after a life-altering prison sentence, that dream shifted. Owning his past and determined to rewrite his story, Severe returned home, hit the books, and hustled harder than ever, juggling college, two jobs, and an internship at a sports agency.

By 32, he enrolled at the Roc Nation School, broke, hopeful, and all in on chasing a career in entertainment. That bet paid off. James landed an internship with Roc Nation’s TV & Film division and now serves as a producer on the "Joe and Jada" podcast with Fat Joe and Jadakiss.

His full-circle moment? Sharing his story with Michael Rubin and finding purpose with the Reform Alliance.

“They gave me a voice,” he says. That voice, once silenced by circumstance, now fuels a career rooted in impact and second chances.

This spring, Severe walked the stage and picked up his degree with his young son Jade watching.

“I did it the long way,” he says. “But I did it the right way.”

Severe isn’t just rebuilding. He’s thriving and making every chapter count.
