Doja Cat Does It All On ‘The Tonight Show’
Slide over Jimmy Fallon, there’s a new late-night show host in town and she’s got the chops for it! Doja Cat brought her signature humor and charisma on “The Tonight Show” this week, as both a guest and co-host.
The “Vie” rapper, known for her witty personality, undeniable charm, and unpredictable behavior, seamlessly blended the two roles and brought the best of herself, which delighted the audience.
Throughout the show, Doja was willing, ready, and able to jump into whatever the show asked. Fallon is known for his eclectic segments, and Doja rose to the occasion. They played Song Scramble, in which the guest has to sing a popular song in the style of another popular song. Doja sang TLC’s “No Scrubs” in the style of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” and Soulja Boy’s “Crank Dat” in the style of “All of Me” by John Legend.
Her guest-hosting spot also had plenty of other gems, like reenacting a “Real Housewives of Miami” scene with house band lead, Black Thought. The results were side-splittingly funny!
Doja’s entire steeze right now is inspired by the ‘80s. It’s the energy she’s bringing to her new album “Vie,” as well as the energy she brought to the show. When Fallon asked her to teach him an 80s dance move, Doja didn’t disappoint. The move she chose was a bit of a pop lock/isolation move, which was all in the neck and shoulders. Fallon did his best, but his moves were nothing compared to Doja’s.
Doja will also be bringing her ‘80s style to “Saturday Night Live” this weekend. Her appearance on “The Tonight Show” most definitely reinforced what fans already know: put Doja Cat on any stage and the multihyphenate will give you a show. Whether she’s topping charts, clowning around on TikTok, or singing “No Scrubs” like a piano ballad, she finds a way to keep people talking (and liking)!
