David Banner Gets His "Swag" On

Southern rapper David Banner drops by to debut his new joint, "Swag."

It’s been a minute since David Banner released a single but he’s back at it with “Swag.” Banner will stop by 106 & Park today, Thursday, October 13 to premiere this new joint and discuss its meaning.
Beginning his career as one half of the Mississippi rap duo Crooked Lettaz, David Banner (born Levell Crump) went solo in 2000 and emerged as one of hip hop’s most prominent rappers/producers/political voices. He established himself as a solo artist with the hit “Like a Pimp,” featuring Lil Flip, and produced T.I’s. 2004 hit single “Rubber Band Man.”

He also emerged as an outspoken advocate for hip hop music during the 2007 Congressional hearing on sexist, misogynistic and racist themes in the media (with an emphasis on hip hop music and culture). And he was a visible advocate for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. He has also widened his spectrum of work by producing music for commercials for Gatorade, Mercedes-Benz and Marvel.
Tune into 106 & Park today, Thursday, October 13 at 6P/5C to watch David Banner debut his new joint, “Swag.”
