In recent years, various public figures have become targets for the IRS. The government agency consistently updates their list of stars who owe in back taxes. One of the most recent victims was Beyoncé’s dad and now ex-manager, Mathew Knowles.

The Detroit News reported that Knowles was slapped with a $12,000 lien from tax officials in California last month. Knowles disputed the bill and after contacting authorities, was actually issues back a refund.

On the lien filed with the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds, Mathew told the Detroit News: “I have overpaid my taxes in California and look forward to receiving my refund.”

Mathew recently announced that he would be shifting his managerial interests to the gospel acts on his Music World Entertainment roster.
