Young Dolph Murder Suspect Still On The Run

Justin Johnson, known as Memphis rapper Straight Drop, has failed to turn himself in.

Young Dolph’s suspected killer has yet to turn himself in and is still on the run.

According to HipHopDX, Justin Johnson, also known as Memphis rapper Straight Drop was expected to surrender on Monday (Jan. 10) but failed to materialize. The nationwide manhunt for the 23-year-old is still active as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Memphis Police Department and U.S. Marshals lead the efforts.

“Turning Myself In Monday @ 201,” he wrote on an Instagram story post. “I’m Innocent. I’ll Be Back Sooner Than You Can Blink.”

Officials say Johnson is facing charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000, WHBQ-TV reports.

Police have been searching for a shooting suspect in the rapper’s death for months. Dolph, 36, was gunned down in his hometown of Memphis, Tenn., at Makeda’s Homemade Cookies shop, on Nov. 17, 2021.

Back in 2017, Johnson shot three people inside of Billy Hardwick’s bowling alley, located in Memphis, Tenn, Action News 5 reports.

Judge Chris Craft, who handled the case, says Johnson was given probation after serving six months and released due to being so “well behaved.” What Johnson didn’t post on his page was the full video, which notes that his probation was revoked a few months later, after being picked up for gun and drug possession.

He was given a federal weapons charge.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Johnson was released in May 2021 and placed on federal supervision.
