Tom Holland Gets Called ‘Spider-Man’ While Partying With Zendaya In Oakland
Tom Holland has become one of the family with Zendaya’s loved ones in her hometown of Oakland.
In a new video posted over the weekend, the newly engaged couple spent time with the actress’ family and friends in Oakland when it was revealed that Holland has a Marvel-friendly nickname among her inner circle.
After Zendaya threw up ‘I love you’ in sign language for the person holding the camera, the man joked, “Hold up, let me get Spider-Man,” turning the camera on Holland. Before the English actor adorably held a 4-month-old baby, the man added a quip about “spidey senses.” Other clips taken throughout the night showed Holland dancing and chatting with Zendaya’s crew.
Long before revealing their engagement in January, Zendaya and Holland met while filming the 2017 Marvel Studios flick “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and publicized their relationship four years later. The actors will next star alongside each other in Christopher Nolan-directed epic “The Odyssey,” while a fourth “Spider-Man” installment is also in the works.
While neither Holland nor Zendaya has spoken about their engagement, the latter wore her engagement ring to the 2025 Golden Globes last month.
On the podcast “Dish from Waitrose” last December, Holland shared that he and Zendaya intended to spend more time together at mixed family gatherings.
“I think what we'd like to start doing is, rather than spending it with each family each year, is to bring the families together. That's what I think we want to do next time,” he said around the 12-minute mark of the video below. “This time, because we're both actors, we're terrible at organizing things. So it hasn't happened yet. The thought's there. The idea has been planted.”
